Why do i feel better when I'm stressed? I could be doing nothing but taking care of myself, avoiding uncomfortable situations,in a peaceful invirement..but I still feel depressing numbness..but when there's something pressuring me I feel better.awake.. doesn't make sense.

The hightened Cortisol & Adrenaline in your system raise awareness, assist concentration and focus and having to devote yourself to working on a solution to the stressor gives you a short term reason to continue to exist and keep going.
It gives you something yo focus on. Depression can be worsened by an idle mind but if you are constantly thinking about the things you need to do then you do not have time to think about how miserable you are. The irony.
