What do you do when you stay up at night?

Wyd when you stay up at night? Why do you stay up at night?

Just curious. I stay up at night because I feel like my time is taken away, I'm taking it back by staying up. I usually read online novels or play games on my phone, maybe sneak out for a smoke and a stroll sometimes

I like being on my own and having time for myself. I usually listen to music and draw or write while doing so. Nighttime is much more comfortable than daytime I feel.

Usually doom scroll on here, FB or Instagram. I'll be tired the whole day yet never go to sleep early. It's not like I actually get sleep it's more like a light rest. I hesitate trying to fall asleep at a decent hour because then I'll just be alone with my thoughts eating me up inside. I try to listen to meditations on YouTube which help for a bit. But I wake up multiple times throughout the night.

Nothing much, just enjoy the darkness, listen to music, I used to love to sit at my window, I can't now. Or just play games on my PC.

I've been drinking every night for months now. I watch youtube and sleep on the sofa. I haven't slept in my bed for a long time. I don't have a TV in there so its just me and my thoughts.

I like to sit outside and enjoy the peace. Every other time of day seems so chaotic to me. If it's a clear night I'll look at the stars and think about the sheer scale and the unknowns of the universe and wonder why things feel so fucked up on this meaningless rock of ours

- watch a movie maybe or a documentary
- play hanafuda
- play 2048 and buy / bid on items on everskies
- look at, read, and save old websites
- have some dessert

lots of multitasking in order not to form a thought in summary

i like night time the most because it's really quiet. it's the only time when i don't get anxious because i'm really alone (and there's no possibility that people are gonna knock at my apartment)

recently, i've been:
• doomscrolling on this site A LOT
• stalking my ex online (bad habit because he cheated on me yet i'm still clinging onto the hope that he feels remorse for what he did)
• playing games like alice madness returns

It's usually because I've stayed up late working. Like tonight. It was around 11pm by the time I'd finished and tidied away. Then, I just enjoy the sensation of finally being able to relax. I want to wind down, likely drink a night cap to make me sleepy. I'm also quite often so tired that I put off getting back up to brush my teeth and get ready for bed. Frustrating. I become too tired to get ready to sleep then, I become over tired and eventually can't sleep!

Usually, it's a mix of coming here and watching a few YouTube videos, checking emails etc. It's rare it gets to 12pm without me finally getting to bed because I don't want to be up too late. That makes me feel so guilty.

Well it's after midnight here. I went for a walk earlier from about 8-10pm on the beach. Got back and chucked the tennis on TV in the background (still going). Went through my usual tabs online, including here. Watched a podcast on Youtube. Had a bite to eat. Tried to plan out the next couple of days. Did a few ankle rehab exercises while watching the tennis. In the next break, will likely brush teeth and move into the bedroom. Stay on here in bed while watching the tennis in the background. Probably try to go to sleep when this match finishes. Pretty standard night.

My flavor of insomnia means I wake up early instead of stay up late but same/diff. Because it is when I wake up, I usually start my day. I will exercise if my mood and energy allows and make breakfast. After that it depends. If I can do something productive quietly, I'll do that. Otherwise I just play games and/or watch stuff until it is time to go to work.
