Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

Trying to finish recovery now, I've spent a good many years working on my education, grieving my trauma, and looking within. I am ready to emotionally distance myself from my traumatizers and look toward the future. The only thing I really have left is to become financially independent, move out, and cut off people who have harmed me in the past.

I am worried about the prospects of totally emotionally seperating , and becoming financially independent. Has anyone taken this step in their recovery? What have the benefits to your mental health been like after getting away from people who have traumatized / hurt you in the past? How does it compare to the stress of dealing with finances / (i hate this term) "adulting" ?

Best,
C

I love being alone, away from my parents. I love being able to have my own space to do whatever I want in. It felt as though I was breaking the shackles that have bound me for so long. Finances honestly don't even stress me out too much. I find it to be fun, actually. I live very modestly - miserly, actually - so that helps.

Nobody knows how to adult. Hell I don't even know how to cook. I just make stuff in an air fryer all the time. I don't clean that much because who am I trying to impress? I can do whatever I want in my own space. I can eat whatever I want in my own space. I can leave my space and go out and do anything I want to do, or sit alone and veg out.

Independence was intimidating for me at first, but it's the thought of independence that's scary rather than the action. Once I got a taste I knew I could never go back.

sounds lovely... to be honest I think as long as i have the air fryer, and enough to live it will be enough...

all i want in this life is freedom, i don't know if i'll be fully "okay" after, but i think it will be a major weight lifted off of me.

i hope evrything is going well for you today and it seems like youre doing much better. there really is no need to impress anyone lol... that line will stick with me and idk why.
