Help maybe i’ll just do it w a handgun?

both my parents have handguns. i've been trying to avoid using it to ctb bc

1. ik my parents would feel guilty over it and so would i
2. it's so hard to acc get myself to pull
the trigger but mainly,
3. i'm terrified if wouldn't work and i'd become a vegetable.

ik nothing abt guns but know that the general consensus is that it's best to ctb w a shotgun (i think). i could prbly find a way to buy one as i'm in US but it'd def be very difficult for me and also risky.

anyways, my sn that i ordered is stuck and i'm growing restless and just wanna get this over with. i need to be dead. could using a handgun work? it'd be via my head. i don't even know the type of gun they have or bullets used or any of that but surely it would work as long as i aim it at my head properly? or does it vary from gun to gun?

I think the consensus is a shotgun is usually better due to it being more lethal. It's harder to aim but much more powerful, to the point where aim isn't as important depending on the gauge (though even a .410 is extremely lethal).

i was told a shotgun is actually easier to get than a handgun where i am, just wondering the success rate? i cant risk failing it, to me it seemed like a handgun would be easier aim.

If you can't risk failing, I think a shotgun is better. When you look into the Case Fatality Rate (CFR) for each method, the shotgun is more lethal.

Shotguns have a CFR of approximately 99%, higher than anything else I can think of. Handguns have a CFR of around 87% (this will vary depending on source but the highest I've seen cited was <95% iirc). Ultimately both are very lethal, so it's personal preference but the shotgun tends to be objectively more deadly.

oh wow thats interesting thx, i know for handguns you'd probably angle for the side of your head but what about for shotguns?
