Method Knife to heart

I want to ctb but don't have any other effective options at my disposal. Is getting a steak knife or one of the big ones and as hard as I can. Thrust it into my chest where my heart is. I hope I can slip between my ribs and not have them change the direction of where I'm hitting. I feel like I have a good chance of success. Also don't tell about the pain because ignorance is bliss. Would this likely result in a successful ctb? Any thoughts or advice?

I don't have a date. Don't have any notes. Don't know if I'll do it. I just want to know if I have a valid ctb option in reach.

your SI will stop you, 100%, any form of CTB where you have to cause the harm is not likely to succeed. I would look for other options

I feel the SI would be hard, not to mention force needed to successfully stab yourself when the pain becomes unbearable.
Probably a way to jump on the knife would be better, but then there's the issue of accuracy at that point.

It's not impossible, it's been done before... but you don't have a "good chance of success" unfortunately.

This is not a serious method.

Besides, it would be far easier to sever the carotid artery and bleed out than do this. Easier in every respect, but still far from easy.

I wouldn't risk this. Try to find a method that is more likely to be effective. Maybe carbon monoxide poisoning?

@fruitninjamaster okay but I don't know how SI would stop me if I do it hard enough but yet again that's why I asked. Thanks for the input I'll keep it in mind.

@OzymandiAsh what would you say if you were to just make up a % chance of it working be?


@Captive_Mind515 please explain how and why? I would like to know why it would be 1: harder to do. 2: is it the mussel that would probably make it harder to do? Or is it something else?


@Spite at this time I don't have any way to get another option. The best thing I could maybe find would be getting rope to hang myself but I can't find any thread explaining how to. I don't know how to partial hang or full hang. If you have any information on hanging please share cause I'd rather do that. CO is my favorite ideal way to go, but I sadly wouldn't have enough time in a closed space. My parents don't let me close my door fully and hiding in the garage won't work either.

Your brain has emergency powers, for people with eating disorders, my brain started cutting off nutrients to parts of my body, my legs were numb, my arms stopped working, all in an attempt to keep me alive.

Your body may shut down all functions if you attempt to stab yourself, especially because it will take time

If you have (maybe dark) humor one could like totally make some sort of joke on ones suicide note or something related to that.

It's been discussed like 3-4 weeks ago, nobody argued that it won't kill you, you just won't be able to do it with the precision and strength + SI. Trust the rest of the people who advised against it, it's not a good method and will leave you in pain.

Okay I'll try to find another method. I'm think about hanging, if you have any threads about hanging can you share please?

A snippet from a good review on this. CW for image of man who attempted suicide this way in the lit review. I personally would steer clear of this method, not only because of the pain and difficulty, but because the success rate is so low

Edit: This review is for abdomen stabbing but the consensus is pretty much the same if you look at other lit reviews on stabbing yourself in the chest or neck. It's just not likely to be successful

i wouldn't do it. my dad stabbed himself in the stomach and "heart" and he's not dead. so i assume the stab near the heart wasn't actually that close.
