Is kindness a weakness in the world we live in? I try to be kind and generous to everyone I meet, even to those who are downright rude, but most of the time it ends in them taking advantage of me before ghosting me. Recently, I had a friend who I was nothing but nice to but after an argument (mostly they just didn't agree with what I said) and all they could do is spam me with insults, and when I finally ask them to stop and to apologise they take it as a personal attack. They even promised that they'd tell me if they ever wanted to leave but only a few days later did they block me out of nowhere. I've talked to the few close friends I have and they all agree that I always seem to find the absolutely worst people to talk to but maybe I just attract them. To be honest it's made me feel hopeless to the point where I want to stop trying to connect with people. It's all too hard. I also have autism which I always make it very clear to them so I've considered that I might be saying something that is socially unacceptable but no one seems to tell me that even if I ask them if what I said was okay. I want to make friends because I enjoy talking to people even if I have some difficulty at times but it doesn't feel worth it anymore. Even some of my close friends have distanced themselves a bit because of how mentally unstable I can be which I don't blame them for. It's why I don't really tell anyone my problems anymore because I don't want to be a burden. A lot of the time I want to disappear and have everyone forget about me but the idea of CTB scares me. Is it really better off having no one in your life so people can stop taking advantage of you?
