Does anyone else just feel like they're never themselves fully?
Like I'm literally aware that I'm forcing my personality a lot of times just to fit in but I can't stop doing it, especially if it's around someone that I really want to talk with but it usually has the opposite effect, obviously. Because people can usually tell when you're not being genuine.
I just genuinely don't know how to stop, I've tried a lot with limited success, I want to be liked and not alone so badly that I end up just shooting myself in the foot.
I think it's probably masking but like... even when I medicate I just can't stop.
And what's more I never know how to exactly fully connect with people, like I don't know how to explain it, I have friends, I'm great at first talks and small talk and surface level things but some kind of magic has to happen to actually secure the friendship, start hanging out, fully reveal myself and do literally normal people things like asking them to hang out. I think I don't get when it's okay to start doing that or what? I just don't feel comfortable in my skin around friends for some reason.
Somehow the thing that makes me really comfortable with people is s*x. I feel just like myself after I do it with someone. Well that works with partners, but not so much friends... Help?
