There are 2 things stopping me from ctb... Ease of method and the afterlife. I wont go over ease of method in this post, maybe another. But I want to discuss the afterlife right now.

I am an atheist and I have no reason to believe in hell, but I cannot get it off my mind. Maybe its because I grew up as a Christian. I am horrified that I might suffer even more than I already am by trying to escape. How could a God be so cruel?

I just want logic or reassurance that I will not go to hell after I ctb. Why would God punish me for exercising my rights? I don't know, for some reason it still plagues me. I cannot get it out of my head and I am very anxious.

I doubt there is any afterlife, we are just animals. However, in the unlikely event that there is something after death, what kind of higher being would punish those in so much pain who commit suicide and put them in hell? That's just a human-made rule created so that people are scared to ctb

The hell that awaits after death is far worse, and it is eternal... if you go there, you will regret not having carried on living on Earth.

Nobody knows. Look at mediums and psychics on YouTube. Heck, even on this platform. People contradict eachother on this subject on the daily. It scares me, too. But then again, living every single day in fear and anxiety is already hell.

@Johnny20 You have no idea what you're talking about.

in my opinion there is nothing. your conciousness stops existing and only your body remains. no memories, no opinions, no anything. you won't care what my parents, friends or whoever will think because my brain will cease to function, so you won't be able to care
edit: in a way the whole world stops existing for you after you die

No,you go to the Earth.

I have. Thanks. If you widen your perspective then you'll see how many different takes there are on the subject. There's even christian pastors that claim suicide can be forgiven if you repent from it.

You can believe what you want, but it's no more than belief. Knowing is something different altogether.

You should be reported and banned for saying something so horrible. If what you're even saying is true, that just proves how evil God is. Screw you.

I didn't mean that one goes straight to hell only God knows that, and judgment certainly depends above all on repentance. Bear in mind, however, that suicide is considered one of the gravest mortal sins.

God is an evil bastard and I will reject him to his face. What will happen to me then? Makes no sense for suicide to be a sin when we were literally forced into this life in the first place. We should have the right to not exist anymore if that is our preference, without having to worry about some psychopathic cosmic dictator torturing us forever over some stupid petty bullshit. People like you disgust me.

Well, don't talk about this subject then, if you don't want to listen to these points of view which, by the way, weren't made up by me, but by figures within the Church.

I'm glad to hear that the fear of hell isn't holding you back. Things like that shouldn't even exist, considering we were forced into this life to begin with and if there is a God, I am 1000% convinced that they are evil and not worthy of our respect whatsoever. Like you, I too was brainwashed by the Christian cult growing up and it's the reason I now despise Christians with a very deep hatred.

If there is a hell and you do end up there for some reason, well, I'll be joining you there before long after I give the cosmic dictator both my middle fingers. I suppose the reason I no longer fear hell is because I am willing to go to such a place, if it means refusing to bow down to whoever was evil enough to create it.

we live in a world where the laws of physics themselves say that we have to take from others to have things for ourselves. I can't imagine a dirtier trick than convincing a selfless person that they have to live like this.

Life is so incredibly cruel and punishing, it honestly wouldn't surprise me if there was some sort of evil gotcha moment after death. I feel like it would be a bit too easy if you could just kill yourself and escape this curse.

Your response doesn't merit a reply, but just to enlighten you a bit: the Holy Scriptures exist, and scholars say all this not me.

Assuming a god that condemns people like that, I'd give hell the benefit of the doubt. Might as well take my chances with the infamous devil.
What you're describing is a negligent, maybe even sadistic god.

I understand that you're little more than a messenger and won't go too hard on you, but I do wonder why you're here out of all places. Spitting this kind of propaganda in the face of the most vulnerable is straight up evil.
If you're a missionary, there are better ways than pressuring people with threats of hell. If you're a pro-lifer, there are better ways to help people.
There can't be much support for this kind of behavior in the Bible, or whatever scripture you're reading from.

Nahh you're not gonna go to hell, especially not for ctb'ing. The only people who may go to hell are the ones who intentionally do evil in this life, but wanting to escape this cruel existence isn't evil at all.

It's not like it's Sunday Mass or anything 😂 I don't want to make anyone feel guilty; just read the other stuff and you'll understand what I meant. Besides... whenever hell or heaven comes up, it automatically gets labeled as a religious topic... so it's not really about being a religious person.
