I know there are people who don't usually listen to music related to guitarists, but for those who do, who is your favorite guitarist and what is your favorite song by that guitarist?

My favorite guitarist is Allan Holdsworth. I like his style of playing, and I love his guitar solos.
My favorite song where he plays is "Nostalgic Lady" by Jean-Luc Ponty. I love his guitar solo at the 3:00 minute mark...

I also love his solo at the end of this song...
"Five G" by Bruford

Tie between Eric Clapton and...........Eddie Van Halen of all people.

Don't worry: I don't make sense to me either.

For Clapton, I would have to go with "Layla" or "Crossroads".

For Van Halen, it's honestly really hard for me to choose. Maybe "Ain't Talking 'Bout Love" or "You Really Got Me".

Also, Ted Nugent is a despicable man, but you can't deny that he's talented.

Perhaps a cliche choice, but I'm gonna go with the player who made me want to play the guitar when I was 13, Johnny Marr of The Smiths.

Michael Hedges(RIP) and Buckethead. I've been playing guitar for 20+ years. These guys are the best at their craft. In terms of pure difficulty, nobody touches them.

Robert Fripp, I think his best lead work is on Exposure, and his work with Brian Eno. Larks Tongue in Aspic and Starless & Bible Black also have peak guitar playing.

Holdsworth jammed with EVH, cool stuff

Johnny Marr - that solo on 'Getting Away With It'. Which, strangely, I still haven't really tried to learn.
