Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

What would happen if we just changed this websites name

You are using an out of date browser. It may not display this or other websites correctly. You should upgrade or use an alternative browser.
People would think we have closed down and leave us alone even the government hopefully it would be interesting we should try changing the sites name and the .net so no one catches on lol
It doesn't matter. Anyone monitoring the site is more obsessed than the average user. So it follows that if the average user can find the site, then it would be no problem at all for detractors. Look at IC as an example.

Governments can't do anything against the site, it's not a marketplace for drugs or anything so it won't get international attention. The worst a government can do is force ISPs to block the domain although people can just use Tor and get around it.

How would you let members here know the name had changed? Email? I expect there are at least some pro-lifers with accounts here. Plus- very likely law enforcement too I imagine. Perhaps they are lurking, perhaps they are active now and then but masking. So- they would find out too- and tell all their friends. I doubt it would take that long for them to find it again...
Plus- I'm not sure how simple it is to just change a name- firstly, it needs to be a name not already in use. I think it may even be necessary to buy a new domain name- after quickly Googling it. Plus- there are all the graphics on the site that would need to be changed to the new name- all costing money. Maybe not huge amounts but- seeing as any pro-lifer lurking here would know the new details immediately- I'm not sure it would be worth it.
Of course- what would happen would be- people trying to find the site after reading things like that old New York Times article- or, watching Tantacrul's video- may have a harder time of finding it.
what if the homepage was disguised as a neopets adjacent fan site and there was a section for promo codes but instead of a promo code it is a secret code in order to log in or view the site
I think that would be interesting and funny if that were to happen

I have no idea why these people have a problem with us recommending high quality meat curing salt and hunting shotguns to each other. Think they might be those crazy radical vegans I heard about…
