I just thought about it today. Sanctioned Suicide sort of has a monopoly on the market. And they say monopolies are always bad for the consumers. Maybe the pro-choice suicide forum market would thrive if there was more competition and everyone would profit of it. Just imagine. If there was a competitor it might try headhunt honorable SaSU members. Especially, mass posters that keep the forum alive. I would probably be in a very good position to negotiate a good deal for me. Just think of Youtube before it actually blew off. The first mass content creators had a huge advantage in the market because they had a core group of followers. Maybe the new platform had ads. And there could be actual influencers. And we all got paid for posting on here. There are some contextual variables that have to get fulfilled. One is there needs more suicidality in the world. And I think our politcians work hard on this issue. They have to make health care worse, invest more into the AI hype and cut the social welfare net even further. This would be the perfect storm. I think there is a good chance they make it happen.
Then people have to get mentally unwell and dependent on help for even very minor tasks. And well the AI chatbots are working on that. They will need help even for shitting on the toilet.
I think for me this development might be good.

Okay jokes aside. Are there competitors? I think there are other sucide forums out there. But they are not pro-choice. There might be pro-choice websites out there. But they are not forums like this one. I don't really see a big benefit. Except maybe if the forum is down we had a different platform to meet. It seems like the existence of a forum like this is hard to eradicate. But there are no various platforms with a similar philosophy. The positive side is the community isn't divided. The negative sometimes more toxic groups won't split from the forum. I like it that this is an international forum. I could never imagine to vibe so well only with Germans...
