but if you don't? . and what about the fact that if you decided not to, you coulda realised that the sudden decision wasn't made in the right state of mind? And that it was too sudden to make a choice like that?

I don't really know - I've been suicidal for so long I genuinely stop ever assigning positive value to life so I could never regret something like suicide. OP's case might be different (hopefully).
