• Hey Guest,

We wanted to share a quick update with the community.

Our public expense ledger is now live, allowing anyone to see how donations are used to support the ongoing operation of the site.

Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

Maybe this thread will help. It's helped me with getting the right mindset to ctb.

I feel you! Pills, drugs and alcohol can do it but I recently started to think if its fair to take this kind of shortcut to overcome our SI.

I wonder if we still have our SI intact maybe we want to live somehow, we just dont know how.

Some things I had in mind are not just alcohol, but also being in the right frame of mind, letting go of things, meditation and preparation for the unknown. As an atheist, I don't believe that there is an afterlife (not claiming that there absolutely isn't, but there isn't sufficient evidence nor reasonable expectation for me to believe in one), just nothingness and the lack of perception of nothingness.

Here is an excellent resource that helped me come to terms with the idea of taking my own life. Maybe it can help you out some too.

I Think when life becomes extremely unbearable, ctb has to be done impulsively with rage, anger and intolerable pain that out weight the SI or the physical pain.

Yes, I think this could be right. If SI is a problem, that means that deep down we still want to live and still have hope things will get better.

There are two things I do in order to overcome SI that've been working for me. I can't assure you if they will work for you because everyone is different, but maybe you can try this:

1. Make peace with the concept of death and whatever comes after you die. It has been pretty useful for me to not feel afraid of what comes after. I don't have specifics believes on the matter, so I just visualized any possible outcome (reincarnation, hell, astral experience, etc) and made peace with each of them. I think that SI has a link with the fact of us being afraid of an afterlife, so if youfind a way to not be afraid of it, you are closer to overcome SI.

2. Methods: you'll find that some methods are more convenient to you than others, due to your personal determination in choosing what better suits you. Desensitization of the method will help you became more confident about how it will work for you and makes it more factible for success. What I mean through this point is that one should expose oneself to the method multiple times or become more aware of it in order to not feel scared. It helps to diminish the emotional responsiveness.

For example, at the moment I'm planning to attempt full hanging, so I get used to the feeling of the rope in my neck, practice with partial to experiment the pressure I will feel, watch videos of people hanging themselves to know what to expect of the feeling and my body hanging, etc. Just for you to accustom to the fact that you are going to die.
