• Hey Guest,

We wanted to share a quick update with the community.

Our public expense ledger is now live, allowing anyone to see how donations are used to support the ongoing operation of the site.

Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

What's your thought on biggest reason for a failed CTB? Is it method used at time, SI kicking while attempting or being found while attempting ? If I fail, I think it would be SI kicking in

I don't know what the majority of the abbreviations mean on here, but the majority of mine have failed because I've freaked out and told on myself and I just generally don't do it properly because I don't want to feel pain. I think if there were a painless methods thread I should read it.

SI is survival instinct . CTB is "catch the bus" act of ending life

I guess that it is hard to say what is the most common reason for someone failing ctb, as there is no way of really knowing. The fear of failure is the main reason why I have not attempted personally. The SI is probably the most common reason in my opinion, as methods can be difficult as even know we want to die, all humans are programmed to survive. I have heard of many people backing out of hanging because of a powerful survival instinct. I really wish that suicide is easier, it is so unfair how it is difficult to leave this world.

Okay I knew CTB (which I had to Google lol) but thank you for survival instinct! So then, yes, SI is partially a reason that I fail. Haha. I hate that there are no methods that are guaranteed painless that are easier to access.

I had a firearm arm, but gave it to a friend so it would be out of my house, because I tried 3 times but couldn't do it. It's just too violent for me to use. And I don't want first responders and however finds me to see aftermath. So I have SN for when I'm ready

I had a firearm, but before I drove to a secluded area to do it, I told on myself. Actually, I was saying goodbyes, but then on my way to my spot, I was talked out of it. I should have never answered the phone.

Survival Instinct goes beyond suppressing physical acts, it makes us tell people too

It's a good thing you sought help, I hope that you agree

I think the biggest reason people fail is that they don't do enough research beforehand and don't use a reliable methods. We take it for granted that we can come on here and research reliable methods and learn the proper protocol for a method to increase our chances of success. Many people don't do that. They act on impulse and chose a method that has a low success rate, because they don't know better. For example, they think that they can take an entire bottle of pills - any pills- and it will kill them, or they can slit their wrists, because that is what they see in the movies, so they are setting themselves up for failure from the start .

The second biggest reason is SI. It is a lot harder to overcome your natural instincts which tell you to avoid pain and death at all costs than people who think it is .
