Something i don't understand about society is their perspection of suicide sources.

On one hand, this website is seen as a demonic place that "encourages" people to commit suicide.

On the other hand we live in an era where there are many widely accepted tools that can help you find ways to catch the bus. I know that a lot of people used to purchase SN from the controversial source DMC but unlike many, i just asked chatgpt to help me source SN and so it did. Not only was it a lot cheaper, it was also a lot more safe customs wise.

Why does society think of this place as a demonic suicide encouraging forum but chatgpt and other tools as innovation?

Don't get me wrong, i'm thankfull of chatgpt being there and it was probably more usefull than this forum. I just don't understand it.

probably cus chatgpt isn't known for providing methods when this site is. Chatgpt probably also only gave you the source cus it thought you were using SN for purposes other than suicide.

My personal opinion is, that suicide is enforced as a social taboo, and any discussion about it in a non-clinical setting is strictly forbidden. As such, any place where the message is not "everything will be okay, get help" is considered bad and harmful. For me personally, that forced messaging is more harmful, that's why I'm here.

yknow, asking chatgpt for sources of SN is a pretty good idea.

I suppose the difference is that this place is some mystical forum that people who have never been depressed once in their life can't fathom existing.

Most of the time, nobody says that. What they're saying is that this is an evil place luring innocent people in and encouraging others to commit suicide.
Outsiders don't understand that most people here are depressed humans that are looking for a connection and a peacefull way out.

Also asking chatgpt sounds like a bad idea. AI isn't some silver bullet, it's often confidently incorrect. It's trained on large amount of text/images from a certain time period which allows it to come up with various text. It can theoretically search the inernet, although I question that ability to a certain extent.
