I do not make this as a recommendation about Poison Hemlock. This is for research purposes alone. Poisons, such as Hemlock, can have unreliable and varying effects from person to person. The extraction methods can be technical and difficult to reproduce.
I have compiled a few links to various articles about Coniine poisoning.
When I considered Hemlock for myself I was unsure where to start or what to expect. Based on my research I have formed a method that I have experimented with myself.
What I have done: I gathered Hemlock plant matter, including leaves, stems, and flowers. I have consumed the plant matter roughly 3-4 days after picking. I have also gathered plant matter and, using a mortar and pestle, ground the matter up, soaked the plant matter in cold water for 3-4 hours and then strained the liquid from the plant matter.
With the fresh plant matter, I consumed on an empty stomach. I chewed the plant matter thoroughly before swallowing.
With the liquid from soaking the plant matter, I drank.
In both case of eating and drinking I experienced a loss of focus in my eyes, loss of coordination in my arms and legs, shallower breathing than normal, a tingling sensation in my arms and legs as well as my lips, an inability to walk, and a general sense of tiredness.
In both cases I did not experience any pain or discomfort aside from light tingling. When I awoke both times I had no lingering after effects aside from my body smelling like the Hemlock plant, I assume from the digestions and bodily processing of the Hemlock.
According to my experience, I think had I consumed more Hemlock, I would not have woken up.
Again, this post is not to recommend Hemlock as a suggested method or to glorify its consumption. I only wish to share my experience with other and perhaps answer some questions that may arise.
