I'm female, 150 lbs, and 5'4. I've chosen KN as my method of CBT, but I'm unsure of the measurements. I remember reading a post on here about it but I haven't been able to find it since. If someone could help me out with the dosing, that'd be great.

We can base an approximate dose on what is known about SN, as the toxic dose of nitrite itself is the relevant factor not the sodium or potassium ion. The LD50 for SN is roughly 0.18โ€“0.3 g/kg, and the molar weight difference between SN (approx. 69 g/mol) and KN (approx. 85 g/mol) should be accounted for if converting. This means you would need slightly more KN than SN to achieve the same effect, because the potassium ion adds more mass per mole.

At 150 lbs/68 kg, the commonly used SN dose of 25g in 50mL water is based on this range. To match that nitrite dose using KN, you would be looking at roughly 30gโ€“33g of KN, but this is still speculative due to lack of real world data.

Also be aware KN is less soluble in water than SN, so it may take longer to dissolve or may not fully dissolve if not stirred well. There is less anecdotal safety/efficacy data, meaning you're in more uncertain territory. The same SN protocol still applies: antiemetics, fasting, calm environment, quiet timing, etc.

Because KN is rarely discussed, please proceed carefully and know that lack of documented results doesn't mean it's safer or easier.

Thank you for the advice, I'll probably try to double the dosage to be safe. If I can stomach it, that is.

What exactly is KN? Are the effects and experience similar to SN? Is it difficult to obtain?

Potassium Nitrite, it's similar to SN but easier and more affordable to obtain. Since SN is pricy and hard to find, my CTB method is KN. It requires a higher dose, so that's what my post was asking about, the dosage.

how do you source KN? for me i wouldnt choose it because you need extra amount of mass to compensate the mole concentration (which adds more volume for you to drink), and high concentration of potassium might cause issue

I sourced mine off amazon and bought testing strips to determine the nitrite percentage an whether it's truly lethal. It was around $60 in total for the KN and testing strips, but I also bought the SN-required meds to take so that you don't feel as much pain or nausea which brought my total up to around $85.
Is 3ppm a lot?

What is the discomfort level like? Is it similar to SN?

Is the procedure and preparations before consuming it, similar to SN as well?

And does it do the same thing to the body like SN? Such as decreasing oxygen to the brain

Thanks

How much water and KN did you use to test? That will affect the desired ppm. I'm curious about your results because I have the same KN, which I haven't tested.

85 mass units of KN contain the same amount of molecules as 69 mass units of SN.
Calculate the ratio between them: 85/69 โ‰ˆ 1.23
This means that you'll need 1.23 more mass units of KN per each SN mass unit in order for both masses to contain the same amount of molecules.

Use this formula to convert:

KN_dose = 1.23 * SN_dose

to test it you can also take a bit of your blood and see if it turns blue when mixed with the KN, or you can test it with the same ratio for SN testing.

I just looked it up, and potassium nitrite is in fact about 3 times more soluble in water than sodium nitrite. But both are very soluble, so it really shouldn't be an issue.

It's funny how you can make a solution with much more salt than water in it ))

I've not heard of this before but I am very intrigued... sn feels impossible to source now. Is the kn painless or do we not know?

it's painless like SN, aside from the horrid taste.

Is there more chance of throwing up due to taste, I wonder.

Can I ask why you like this over sn?

I'm suddenly feeling very hopeful...Assuming it's not so hard to get.

I chose this as my CTB method because it's cheaper and more acessable. I bought mine on amazon along with testing strips to make sure it's strong. The dosing is higher than SN though, but it's not an issue for me.

It seems you can't get potassium nitirite easily anymore- I checked on amazon and on google shopping and couldn't find an easy recognizable brand selling it unless you are a school/business/lab. Am I just being stupid?
