Help Coach me out of this stupid method.

Hello,

First post in Suicide Discussion and I would like to preface by saying its a great pleasure being here today.
With that said, I need help or more accurately I need to be told that this particular method is a horrendous idea.
You see, I like starving.
Going long periods without food and watching my body change.
Day in. Day out.
It feels like getting high sometimes, while its the closest to mortality I can get without a medical condition.
You see where I'm getting at here?
One of my stupid methods is to starve to death.
Specifically a national park or somewhere on the beach.
How without being caught? Well I've got plenty of out door experience so I competently know where to hide and such.
Still its a stupid method in that it would be very painful and in the later stages I would be immobile, therefore easier to find should anyone get suspicious.
Please, help me by telling me this is an incredibly stupid idea.

The suffering would be very intense and the pain would put you in the hospital before you could CTB. I think you said it yourself not a great idea. Is it possible? Sure, but that possibility is near zero.

No, starving is not intensely painful. I successfully fasted for 7 days without any pain whatsoever. The issue with this as a suicide method is the sheer amount of determination and willpower it would take. It's better to die by dehydration rather than starving, as this will take significantly less time. Therefore, when you decide to fast, make sure you're also forgoing liquids.

Dying by dehydration is incredibly difficult. I've tried. I couldn't make it 72 hours before caving to thirst and drinking. It's possible to go 9 days or longer without drinking before experiencing any organ failure. The idea that you're guaranteed to die after 3 days without water is a myth. It all depends on factors like how much you sweat and whether you're sedentary or active. Some people have died of dehydration in a single day due to extended periods of intense exercise without hydrating.

You'd better have the extreme tenacity of an ascetic monk if you plan on dying this way. It's practically unheard of outside of end-of-life hospice scenarios. People with terminal conditions have reportedly had peaceful deaths by abstaining from food and water whilst denying IV and intubation, but this is done with the comfort of palliative care, a privilege you won't have.

Basically, it's not going to happen. This is just a suicidal fantasy. But if you think you can do it, try it, and report your high score before you give up and eat/drink something.

After so many days he began to become delirious and his body started ravenously searching for food. He eventually blacked out and found himself out of the forest. Idk what to tell you. You already know it's a stupid method, but alas, we want what we want.

The problem is that I keep fantasizing about it despite knowing its futile. Overlapping both truth and fantasy tends to make the mind hazy and delirious. Which in laymen's terms, my brain thinks if better than shooting myself, while my logical mind states shooting is the superior method. Either way, both my brain and mind can't make it's "minds" up. Perhaps this is the body trying to stave off the inevitable and prolong my misery. All accurately acute to Euclidian design. My flesh, body, soul. All subject to numerical abuse and sequential flaying. I am an equation waiting to solve itself into oblivion, needing the right line of negative numbers to solve the final job.

I'm also a failed writer by the way, so there's what I guess.

So the body takes control and turns the person into a living animal? Fascinating. Its like a last-ditch survival mechanism that trumps sentience in favor of ironclad survival. And by animal, I don't mean that in a derogatory sense. No, I mean that in the most natural way possible.

Very disturbing story. I'll note that and put in my memorandum of 'things not to do' when the time comes to catch the reaper.

I get you. There's a beauty to starving, getting weaker, the mind gets slower. I ate and drink very little today and here in Germany is a heat wave right now. Starving/Dehydration may not work as a suicide method, but as a form of self harm it's effective.

The act alone in my tormented head had produced a vivid and haunting fantasy. A paint of sorts.
The body rid of nutrients begins to crumble. To rot away. To literally fall apart.
And seams form that later rupture across the meager material. Cracks, big enough to let the tiny spirits out.
Day by day, these spirits flee the failing vessel and join the rest of the atomic materium of our Euclidian Misery.
They join them in the innumerable masses, to continue existing while the body disintegrates into carbon refuse.

Its the most picturesque death I can imagine that isn't 'violent'.
Painful indeed but nonetheless the closet one can get to feeling literal mortality in real time.
No meds. No chemicals. No bullets.
Just pure death delivered by the minute, hour, day or however long it takes till the vessel fails.
Breaking apart. Slowly.

I recall reading how the hunger and satiety control centers of the brain in the brain when damaged could lead to savage behavior. I guess the attempt where the guy woke up in the store acting feral is a real life example.

But did you know you will go blind and deaf from starving yourself. Look it up, it is brutal what problems it can cause. I really wish stopping eating was this idyllic death where you slowly slip into unconsciousness, each day becoming more drowsy and disconnected from the world until you simply disappear. But that's not how it is at all

I'm going to starve myself tonight. Mostly because I can't afford to go anywhere for food.
But I've never heard people will lose their senses from starving themselves. That's disturbingly grotesque and kind of a fucked way to die. Which makes 'sense' seeing how these are some very vulnerable places that can be affected by nutrient deficiency.
