In the book, "Suicide and Attempted Suicide", it states that the organization called "Compassion in Dying" recommends 6 - 9 grams of nembutal mixed in one cup of apple sauce or one cup of melted ice cream to mask the bitter taste. Do you think this would make the nembutal taste much better?

I once drank a Guinness beer vanilla ice cream float. It tasted...interesting. That's how I imagine mixing nembutal with ice cream would be, not pleasant like complementary flavors, but not utterly offensive as the taste of straight N might be to some.Not an expert but apple sauce with N sounds okay to me. Not if you're doing SN tho because of possibly the acidity and chemicals.
Also pay attention to the word *melted*, not a great idea to have anything cold because it irritates the stomach and may increase the chance of throwing up.
