Yes, it truly feels like a matter of life and death when there is a strong attachment to one person. Some people manage to be light-hearted about it all, but I never could. I've attributed this to attachment issues.

A loss of someone special feels like being left to die. A judgement followed by being thrown into the pits of hell for eternity. The execution of any would-be children (not that I'm being a natalist). The slaughter of a lifetime of would-be memories. The demolition of a sweet bond. Ash to ash, dust to dust.

yes.
I even gave up on it. the cost:benefit ratio is so bad.
I sacrificed too much only to get abandoned and destroyed in return.
all my relationships failed miserably. so I gave up trying.
tbh that's one of the many reasons I'll CTB: life without "love", touch, affect and high-quality sex is so gray, colorless, mundane...

If you love something, it is just something to lose and eventually cause you pain. That is why I see it as better to never love anything in the first place. Emotions can torture us.
