Even in America, owning a gun seems to be a privilege.

Quicker than any other methods, has extremely high chance of success, little to no SI trigger.

If yall ever watched sopranos ending, It'd be just like that. just infinite darkness(you won't even feel it) after you pull the trigger.

Seriously, people die of hanging and falling and any other brutal methods when modern technology could provide more comfortable deaths.

I really understand as all I want is to cease existing instantly and painlessly and never suffer in this torturous existence ever again, I always envy those who can access such, I always suffer so much from how I cannot just have a death like that.

Its funny how firearm megathread only talks about caliber of gun you wanna use and where to aim, whereas other megathreads talk complicated things, especially inert gas method.

My only reservation regarding this method is how messy it is. I'd hate to traumatize someone on my way out, they shouldn't have to deal with that

There's only so much you can talk about regarding guns. One thing you don't really see either is goodbye threads with guns.

It's not as easy as it seems. SI still becomes this insurmountable force.

Same, I live in a state with incredibly strict gun laws (strictest in the country actually) and I hate it so much. I want to buy a shotgun and stick it in my mouth so bad

little to no SI trigger.
Except for the multiple threads on here of people saying they had a gun to their head but could not pull the trigger. Everyone acts like guns are the perfect method but making that final decision is still scary as hell and it stops a lot of people.

You say that, but it's very scary to sit here and try and pull the trigger. I'm trying to. Been trying to for two days. I even went to the gun range to get used to it. I still can't bring myself to do it.

Hi urgent. I'll let you borrow mine. Was just sitting here browsing threads and came across your name.

No matter the method, the SI (which is an major hindrance when it comes to attempting (and also succeeding at) CTB). This survival-instinct, or self-preservation instinct which has been biologically ingrained in all living organisms (humans included) throughout billions of years of evolution is one of the hardest obstacles to overcome. While there are ways to reduce it, I don't think there is ever a 100% guaranteed way of complete elimination of the SI, but enough suppression of said instinct for a significant amount of time (albeit temporary) for one to go through with the attempt. Some people use drugs and/or alcohol to help fight SI, but of course being too impaired can also lead to executive function decline/coordination, which depending on the method, could result in a higher chance of a botched/failed attempt, so one should proceed carefully if using substances to fight one's SI.

I've thought about this a little and I feel like you could contain and conceal things a bit with a plastic and fabric hood or something. Have a dead man's switch message that alerts emergency services so they arrive at the scene psychologically prepared.

Before buying the shotgun, I was certain that once I held it in my hands, I would definitely pull the trigger. I even wept with joy when I saw the email online approving my gun license. But reality turned out to be so harsh and unforgiving. The moment I smelled the gunpowder, I felt uneasy. The noise at the shooting range wasn't all that loud, and the shotgun's recoil was manageable. The thing is, I've stuck the barrel in my mouth a hundred times, yet I just can't bring myself to pull the trigger. I assemble the shotgun, grab a huge red shell loaded with large buckshot (the mere sight of that massive shell is terrifying), disengage the safety, place my finger on the trigger, put the barrel in my mouth, and... nothing. I just can't pull it. I can't take that final step—even though I know it means instant death 99% of the time. I hate myself, my shotgun, and this whole world! Sometimes I think that if I had a pistol, I'd probably blow my brains out. After all, a pistol is much smaller and therefore less intimidating—though using one for this purpose is risky

I've come to find that any method that is not directly at hand is a way you'd 'use immediately'. Once the method is in front of you it's a different story.

My bad bruh, but its like more than 10 years old you get me
It ended in June 2007, it's been almost 20 years. Plus it's been parodied so many times that the ending is a phenomenon, even for those who didn't watch the show.
