at this moment i have a member of the family getting iv therapy. they are getting it all night. i am the one who set it up. they were not getting enough fluids so i made a call or two. the pharmacy sent out the supplies including a pole and rn to get it started. cost was around $100 to the pharmacy plus nurse expenses. am i overreaching but does this not open up other possibilities for cbt for oneself if they could get the same service for them???

What is iv therapy?

Imo you still wouldn't receive the lethal substances that are needed.

Yeah as the other commenter suggests, it all depends on what is being given? IV stands for IntraVenous, which just means given by vein.

If you are injecting saline (water with normal levels of salt) you are just going to feel hydrated as fuck
If you are injecting lethal amounts of opiods, than the IV therapy stuff is just a fancy way of shooting up,

IV therapy is a method of administering fluid directly into a patient's bloodstream intravenously to address a variety of medical conditions, including nutritional deficits. Say for example one may have some SN laying around or herion or fent then they could take it and dump it in the iv bag after the nurse has got it started and then they may be able to have a more peaceful end than the oral route.
i hear a lot of talk about the unpleasantness of swallowing SN and the vomit reaction. just wondering if this could assist

Can't one order IV therapy at home? Or a kit...

This brings me to some interesting thoughts around methods. IV drugs and such and the difference... wonder of an opioid end would be more possible. Personally fucking hate needles but to CTB im willing to do it.

Hmm 🤔

im not sure but i would like to have that RN go ahead and make sure it is properly going. then she leaves and will come back in about 24 hours to remove it. that should be more than enough time. hate to say it but in some ways it reminds me what they do in europe at the assisted suicides. only difference is you supply the drugs here.
