Is it really so unreliable to shoot yourself in the chest with a crossbow and a hunting arrow?

I'd gladly choose SN over shooting myself in the chest, that would be really painful, and the SI impossible. What don't you like about SN?

I don't think a cross bow and hunting arrow will calm your nerves or be pleasant.

I have no knowledge about crossbows, but if you really need to use one, you would probably have better luck shooting yourself through the throat and then pulling the arrow out. It sounds really awful, though, but I'm not sure that the crossbow has enough power to penetrate your ribs.

My friend I'm sorry that you're suffering and so much I do not recommend shooting yourself in the chest with a crossbow. If that's a jar of SN personally that's probably the way that I would do this.

A friend of mine did this in the early 90s, choosing this very method to CTB. Paramedics said it would have been a long, slow painful death for him.

HOw could you fail at full suspension- usually the only way is if someone rescues you. If you mean partial then yes, these fail quite often.

I'm not very knowledgeable about crossbows but how would you even physically do that? My husband has one for hunting and that seems like it would be physically hard to do.
