Discussion If you had a reliable full proof method would you still be here?

The only reason I'm still here alive and unwell is because I have no method that will actually work. OD doesnt work, cutting is impossible due to SI, jumping could work but there's no place high enough and I don't think I'd the guts to do it anyway, hanging is too painful, and the rest are a combination of lack of accessibility, too much pain, overly drawn out or requires resources that are basically impossible to obtain. It's not like there's a button or switch anyone can press that will instantly end their life with no pain. I think the reason many of us are here is because we just don't have a relaible method. We are forced to suffer this awful existence :(

Yeah, my worst fear is messing up an attempt and becoming disabled and ending up worse than I already am. The thing is that alot people on here are here because they suffer from physical or mental disability, so i feel even more ungrateful and want to ctb even more that I can't enjoy my life.

I don't think so, no. I would have ended it all earlier, I suppose. But, unfortunatelly, getting a gun in our part of the world is tricky, so I guess I'll have to wait.

Exactly. I too am very careful that none of my attempts ends up in a failed attempt that would cripple me and make my situation much worse than it's now, where i will not even be able to attempt ctb anymore.. So I'm taking my time instead of being hasty

Waiting is the worst part, tbh. I just want to end things NOW but the world isn't letting me. To much preparation plus waiting for right circumstance to pull off my plan. It's an arduous process.

There actually might have been one time where I had a method that I could've used but I was too much of a coward to go for it. That was years ago and now i can't ctb. I have to wait.

I agree. Not having a method is not optimal but I still have to be careful. My chosen method is suicide via firearm which is the most powerful method (short of completely obliterating my body from a powerful explosive mortal kombat style). The only thing stopping me is arranging things. Getting the funds, finding a location, practicing handling the firearm, etc.

I have a family, and I promised my husband I wouldn't use his guns for CTB. I'd need to buy my own, and make sure he was away at work when I did it so he couldn't be accused of killing me. Tbh I'm afraid of jerking it at the last second and blowing off my face but surviving. I tend to struggle with recoil and shooting straight.

SWB = shallow water blackout. Basically, hyperventilating, holding breath, passing out in water, and drowning while unconscious. Hyperventilating significantly reduces how much time it takes to pass out from breath holding, allegedly enough to cause blackout before your brain remembers to force breathing. Apparently it happens sometimes by accident to divers and swimmers. There's a resource thread about it on here somewhere.

I am in this situation too. Earlier when sn was available, I thought of giving life one more chance and now here I am stuck having no method and honestly a bit scared of doing it also. I am afraid of pain and failing. I can take the pain but the idea of failing and being disabled scares me

Foolproof (full proof is not a word or a term, at least not in the English language). If I had a truly foolproof method, I'm pretty sure I'd be gone in the next few weeks. I have a plan A though and a plan B if that fails. I'm still considering obtaining a plan C, but one truly foolproof method would be better than a few methods that could possibly fail.
