If only I could completely lose consciousness after jumping

If my mind and body could completely shut off after jumping, like total darkness, so that I woudn't feel the pain of hitting the ground, then I would definitely jump to end it all.

Fear of that pain and the consequences if I survive is the only thing keeping me from jumping.

Hi. I don't think you'll feel any pain if you jump from high enough. I was in a bad motorcycle accident and I don't remember any of the pain, I think the brain has a way of shutting off/blocking pain from being felt it it's severe enough.

same here. i have a fear of heights. the thought of surviving a jump is dreadful.

There was a website I read somewhere recently that explained a theory about people not feeling the impact from jumps of a fatal height. I don't recall what the site was though, but I found it via this forum somewhere.

OP, if you jump at 2,000 feet, you won't feel pain. It be just BAM, dead. the end. Terminal velocity is at 1,500 feet. Go at 2,000 feet and it be all over. You be traveling at 200 km/hr. You will hear a loud thud, BAM of your body drop and that it.

I wouldn't jump unless it at least 2,000 feet height.

See this tower pic below, find a place with this height and jump, I guarantee you, you won't feel a thing, it so high that you be done once you hit the ground.

I remembered the same article. I believe it's correct if you jump from someplace high enough. It's said your brain can't process what's happening any faster than it happens so, since you'll be falling faster than that, you won't feel anything. Unless, I suppose, you don't choose a high enough place and remain conscience after hitting the ground.

The other footnote is that most people have enough time to think about how they wish they never jumped.

There is a good chance for adrenaline in your body so you won't lose consciousness.

I currently only have access to the terrace of my 4 storey apartment. There isn't a proper place to even jump from there. There's wires and stuff in the only small open area which is not covered by metal sheets.

I feel that's too less. It's like 60 - 70 feet max.

Agree i was too and only felt the pain when i came round 3 days later , jumping you wont come round so no pain .
The only thing that worries me and i think original poster is worried about is the way down , as i fell off a ladder once and it seemed to take forever before i hit the concrete , i had time to look around realize i was going to hit a metal railing , adjust my angle and avoid it .

I heard somewhere if your high enough you actually die or something before u hit the ground but I dunno if that's true or not
