Thats all I wanted to say. Lately i havent been able to sleep until like 7 am and my mental health is suffering from it. It all started with taking benzos. I had to visit rehab to withdrawl from them in a safe environment. I had nights where i didnt sleep at all. My sleep has gotten disturbed from then on. Maybe it will return back to normal. If it wont, I'm 100% sure I will CTB. Sleep was my only saviour from depression.

Can you get some hypnotics that aren't benzodiazepines?

I think I can but first I'll have to figure out what is actually going on with my sleep and if I have a sleeping disorder or not. Hypnotics could hopefully be a solution.

That sounds very horrible. I'm sorry you are in this situation. It can be awful to barely get any sleep. Whatever happens, I wish you the best.

I am the same way. I can't stop waking up at 2PM, 3PM. I started taking melatonin but I lay awake until 6AM. It is impossible. I never want to leave bed or do anything either waking up at this hour.

You become addicted to certain sleeping pills, that is why you can not sleep. I have the same problem myself because I have insomnia and use Stilnoct and Provavan.

Right there with you.

A full week of insomnia fucked me up as much as years of being depressed have.

My insomnia has gotten worse of the years.
Had a horrible night last night, lay in bed for 10 hours before getting 1-2 hours of sleep.

Even took double the dosage of my usual sleeping tablet, which was a mistake as it messed me up with dizziness, nausea and made my heart rate go through the roof.

I know what it is. My whole body burns like hell when I can't sleep. My insomnia is currently under control with a medication. If sleeping pills don't work, there is another way. If you haven't gotten enough sleep, you can use a CNS stimulant like modafinil when you wake up. It will eliminate the symptoms of insomnia. Maybe you can discuss this with your doctor. There are people who have tried this and said it worked.

I have severe insomnia too. I like to remind myself that people who have babies don't sleep and are still able to survive and function somehow.

there is one thing I haven't tried : waking up at a fixed hour(like 6am) no matter what, regardless of if I have slept of not. I heard that it helps condition the boby to sleep because it knows that it won't get a second chance if it choses to spend the whole night starring at a screen because of boredom. If anyone tried that I'd love to hear your experience.
