Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

I was terrified that SS was down for good last night.

For those of you that didn't try to log on last night, SS was down and I was in a panic. I thought for sure that some pro-life group had finally gotten their way. I'm so grateful for this website and for our freedom of speech; I'll never take it for granted again.

It goes up and down all the time, try not to worry. There was a discord group chat also, not sure if its still around, so you could join that when the site does down, but honestly, don't worry
Stupid pro lifers. They're just not intelligent enough to fathom the pain of which we suffer. I pity their ignorance. We shouldn't have to worry about having our freedom of speech taken away. This website isn't pro suicide; it's pro CHOICE.
I too, am glad that this website is still here! I always fear it'll be gone for good. Or even a few days.
Like bpd Barbie said, the website randomly goes down.
Best wishes man.

I think there are a lot of coordinated attacks against this website like DDOS attacks that bring the website down sometimes. So it might go down once in a while but the team here is pretty good and so they revive it and keep it running.

I wasn't really afraid that the site was down for good, but I was afraid of how long it would be down. I'm on here all the time now and feel like I can't do without it.

if this website is indeed under ddos attacks i have lost my last hope for this humanity..
oh forgot to mention, but isnt this website not reachable like every 12h? at least this happens to me, maybe different time zones
I was afraid site was shut down because of related CTB and authorities were looking up information. Well it should take more than that to shut SS down. I'm glad it's still up.
I noticed that the server is Cloudflare again, the same one that used to go down before, and that Marquis announced a month or so ago we were leaving when he briefly shut down the site in order to move servers. Maybe Cloudflare is a platform and both servers are on that platform, I'm not an IT person, I don't know how this stuff works.
I was worried too about denial of service. I can't understand why wanting the choice or diacussing the choice is so terrible to people. I would never harm another person physically verbally or emotionally. But I can't take life anymore and there is no choice there on how to feel better. Everyone acts as though suicide is a cowardly selfish act and you can philosophically discuss that from your side of healing or lack of depression, fear, anxiety and hope but for those of us without that hope and the end of all options it is good to know what is left for us. No one can tell me that in 1000 years I will matter at all. For ever Ceasar or Lincoln whom we all remember in history and changed the world, how many ordinary peasant farmers simply died and two generations later unless there is a bureaucratic census document, no one even knows they exist. Suicide, heart attack, cancer or just old age and hospice, will it matter how we died at all in 1000 years? I don't mean in the immediate sense of our friends and loved ones. Five generations from now or 10 generations from now will a suicide of a person matter? I also don't mean I'm the hypothetical world of butterfly flapping wings. I mean in the true actual sense.
I say to them, "Name one relative of yours from 1000 years ago who did or did not commit suicide?"
I think it's weird as a society we have this blanket view on suicide. Supposedly, being suicidal automatically means that you must suffer from mental illness and that society must intervene and protect you from yourself. You know how many d-bags throughout history, would have done society a favor if they had killed themselves? I know that Hitler did end up committing suicide, but what would have happened if instead of being an outward sociopath, he decided, "Well, I might be kind of a d-bag, maybe I should end it," and he did this as an artist instead of a dictator? I say, "to hell with this blanket view on suicide." I can tell you that I am kind of a piece of crap myself. I let my wife die! She might have been better off if I was able to ctb along time ago!! Thanks for reading my ridiculousness. Just kind of needed to vent!
It does go down sometimes but always comes back, so credit to the mods who do an amazing unselfish act in keeping this place going so my respect to them

I wasn't around, but I would imagine I would panic like usual, but I know this site states it will go down sometimes. It's a relief when it comes back.
I panicked as well, thinking it was shut down by pro-lifers. This happened again just a few days ago where I wasn't able to access the site. When I tried to reach it again, I ran across some petition to get this site taken down. People are so absurd with their assumptions of what we actually do here, but media does like to put a shit twist on everything. Glad you put this thread up because now I understand that this site goes up and down sometimes. Sending you hugs. I know that I myself am relieved.
