I got Right to Die passed in Illinois

Hello, I wanted to share some success I have had that is relevant to this community.

Tomorrow, on September 12th, the Medical Aid in Dying Bill officially becomes law in Illinois. This law gives qualified terminally ill patients the option to seek medication that allows them to end their lives on their own terms.

I played a major role in getting this bill passed and a large part of my motivation was this community and the people here. Its amazing to see something I believe in so strongly become reality and so I wanted to come share and celebrate with all of you.

How do they truly determine this piece of the legislation. I mean, why 6 months, and who can say someone has 6 months left vs. 1 year or whatever time frame. Isn't the 6 months a guess???

Have a terminal (fatal) illness with six months or less to live.

This is a step in the right direction for sure! I just wish the Right to Die laws were for anyone and everyone who wanted them (not just terminally ill people either). Anyone who wants to die for any reason should be able to walk into a euthanasia clinic, anywhere and everywhere that they live, and get Nembutal just because they want it and are legal adults. This would solve so many problems and would cause me to hate humanity much less than I do.
