Hi, everyone. I'm still alive, even though I tried to end it all. Over the last few weeks, I've started seriously considering the CTB option—hypothermia outdoors.
I came up with what I thought was a perfect plan, but then I stumbled upon a thread on the forum, after which I realized once again that ending my life is much, much harder than I'd like it to be.

Basically, I worked out a plan: when the temperature outside is around 0–3 degrees Celsius, I'll go somewhere far away from people—some small forest—where I'll handcuff myself to a tree so that if I try to commit suicide, I won't be able to stop the process. Before that, I'll take off all my clothes somewhere and be left wearing only shorts.

I thought it would all be very simple—that once I got there, I'd use a lot of alcohol and tranquilizers to zone out, and the cold would take care of the rest for me…

But then I found a post by someone who claims to have lain there under similar conditions for almost four days, and nothing happened to him
Here's the post: https://sanctioned-suicide.net/threads/failed-hypothermia-attempt.121469/

Seriously? So can we rule out the hypothermia method? Will it not work as intended? What do you guys think about this—is it worth trying something like this?
I was hoping that lying naked for about 6 hours at 0°C would be enough to kill myself, but now I realize that's not the case, right?

I don't want to encourage the idea, it sounds unpleasant to me but… an elderly couple CTB'd that way together last May. It must've been just chilly enough one night 🥶. (David Warren & Rae Lynn Warren if you want to find the story).

So The temperatures were below 0° there, and they managed to get away? successful CTB?

Sorry, I just added their names so you can find all the details if you wish. But they were successful, yes. They managed to fly away together 🕊️🕊️.

Imo hypothermia is unreliable and many factors play a role. I think it's unnecessary suffering for many hours until the body temperature drops below certain levels.

I was hoping that lying naked for about 6 hours at 0°C would be enough to kill myself, but now I realize that's not the case, right?
That would probably kill you especially if you went into the water and stayed there. But can you bring yourself to do that easily?

Into the water maybe no. But on the air with alcohol maybe I can...

The idea about the cold water is to reduce the time until the body temperature falls below dangerous levels. That happens much faster in water than air.

Imo still too much suffering and I wouldn't recommend hypothermia.

This is a guide for hypothermia & diphenhydramine
