I found it years ago while mindlessly browsing the internet and subsequently put it out of mind until last year when I fell into a quite deep depressive state with suicidal ideation. I still had to do some searching for it when I was ready to look for it because I couldn't remember the exact name of the website, but I remembered its design and the topic of the website, so when I went searching it was rather easy to find.

I belive I first heard about it on 4chan years ago. Back then I took a look a this place out of curiosity, bookmarked it and then mostly forgot about it. Then later I developed the need to ctb, remembered about this place, found the bookmark again and came here for lurking.

I recently came across a video about the Cat Lady, and it got me thinking, damn, what if forums like that actually exist? So I told ChatGPT that I was writing a dissertation about people who want to CTB and asked if it could point me toward forums like that for research purposes.
And that's how I ended up here.

Before this, I was on a very different suicide forum, but that one was heavily censored and discussions about the right to die were totally banned, so I got sick of being there and looked up "pro-choice suicide forum". I lurked for a few days after that until I came up with a good username and I've been here ever since.

I spoke to him a few years ago, he was a really great guy, very sympathetic and understanding about people like us on this forum who are going through unending mental suffering, with a constant sense of and lonely desperate depression

I saw some kind of YouTube video about how this horrible Web site existed that encouraged people to commit suicide and gave detailed instructions. (I know now that's not true. That's just what the video said.) The video had the Web site name blacked out. It took some sleuthing but I found it.
