I'm curious, if anyone still has hobbies, which bring at least some enjoyment. I've unfortunately lost passion for the hobbies I once had, I rlly liked skiing for example, but I don't anymore. Rn I'm looking for distractions, can't hurt to try something new, even if it's just small/ simple things

I really like reading PDFs sometimes, so... I gvess it's my hobby. Bvt playing games (the hobby @darksovls mentioned) is a good hobby too (it helps to distract/focvs, depending on the game yov are playing), or listening to good mvsic. Are yov into any particvlar types of games or anything like that?

Just random PDFs or abt specific topics?
There's actually a game on my phone I sometimes still play and it's quite fun. It's called TheoTown and it's a rlly cute city builder game, I can recommend it.
Kinda?? I don't consider them hobbies I just do whatever I feel like day to day. So I suppose they fall into distractions.
My apartment has a swimming pool I swim in whenever I can which is like every 4 days or so it's not hard to make time for since it's not like I do it like a proper exercise sometimes just laps or laying still for hours. Sometimes kids in the building come there to also swim and talk to me, weird but it's fun. I draw for fun sometimes too, whenever I get into a new space and want to "establish" myself, I try to show someone my drawings their mostly just pretty anime girls and my cringy ocs though lol. I did art for a decent amount of middle school though so I don't know how casual it'll feel to someone completely new to it.
I also listen to music a lot. My mood is basically dependent on it some songs are as good as cigarettes to me because they can immediately calm me. I got into it since I used to struggle with sleeping because I'd sometimes hear voice or the like around me when I was young so i'd have to go to bed with my TV or phone playing something, usually YouTube. Lqnded me with what I consider a niche discography. That's about it though.

That's pretty cool tbh, I've never seen an apartment building with its own swimming pool. Swimming is great in general, couple of years back I swam every day for around 6 months, was fun. I even had underwater headphones, so I could listen to music while swimming

Random stvff, philosophy (my favorite topic), religion, sometimes history... By the way, my old hard drive died last year, so I lost over 5,000 PDF books. It was tragic, lol.
Oh, this game haha, yeah, I know it. I've played it on my old phone before, bvt it broke and I lost everything, sadly.

Yeah I like it for the same reason, I rlly like reading abt psychology, but philosophy as well ig, but also history and politics. I recently read "the anxious generation" from Jonathan Haidt, a great book imo, mby you'd like it as well
not as much as i used too, i used to be very passionate about theatre, drag, and fanfiction/making fan characters. and i still am, i just can barely do them very often dispite wanting to, i just have no energy. now i cant keep up with much besides my video game hobby, right now i mostly play minecraft. i also love any game with miis like miitopia, tomodachi life, wii sports resort, as well as any pokemon game, but i dont play those ones as much anymore. i think about my old hobbies a lot but i dont do them as much.

Oh, okay. I'll read it when I can or whenever I find it. Thanks for the recommendation.
As for politics... the most recent physical book I read was one by Yvkio Mishima, bvt I'm not svre if I'd call it political, since it mixed several things: philosophy, politics, romance, psychology, and so on.
Another one I read was 'The Metamorphosis' by Kafka. Both are excellent.

I only know Yvkio Mishima from Instagram edits, which is a bit embarrassing, but he seems like a fascinating guy, might check out his books.
We actually had to read "the Metamorphosis" in school, was interesting
Ah yeah, the Instagram edits, haha. Yov don't have to be embarrassed abovt that, it's actvally pretty common. Bvt yeah, I'd recommend reading something by him when yov get the chance. He's definitely fascinating.
He was a really fascinating bvt complicated person. He wrote abovt beavty, identity, politics, death, and the conflict between traditional Japan and modern society. His life was incredibly vnvsval, and honestly, sometimes it feels like he was almost as interesting as his own books. The Instagram edits only show a small part of him, actvally. :)
i love a lot of wii games. i wish i still had a wii. i remember playing pokemon stadium and smash bros. i played those ones by myself becuase my brother and i mostly liked different kinds of games but the one franchise we both really liked was kirby. i remember playing that a lot and liking playing with him. kirby is very nostaglic to me because it was the only franchise me and my brother were both into for a long time. now i have some kirby games on ds and switch but i do wish i could play the old wii games, pokemon stadiun and wii sports resort/any of the mii games on there.

Yeah the edits definitely don't do him justice, but I liked some of the quotes shown there, tho I don't exactly remember them now. I will prob buy myself one of his books to start with, I need distractions anyway and he genuinely seems interesting

That's a good idea, I don't think yov'll regret it. If yov ever need a PDF or something, I can check if I still have anything by Mishima and send it to yov. <3

Ofc. Actvally, i really have a lot stvff abovt him (PDF books and stvff like that), bvt i jvst have to translate to english lol. So, I'll send them to yov later if I can get them translated today.

Bird watching is free and there are many ways to go about it. I know some people who are into ID and tracking aspects, but I mostly just enjoy watching. If you're without windows or a place to watch, All About Birds dot org has livestreams on their site of various locations.
They're hosted on youtube, but the website has information about the kinds of birds you'll see on each camera under the lives, along with specific clips if you get invested in a particular area, and sometimes that's fun to know.
I find it a lot more grounding than my other hobbies, even though most of it is just staring off into space.

That's actually a very cool hobby imo. I sometimes already kind of do this. I have access to a pretty large window and outside there's a bunch of greenery and I often see all kinds of birds, I even saw a deer once, which was cool
