Basically, I just figured out my friend (more fwb) is having ideations but no plan. Told me he feels hopeless. I want to help him really bad, but seeing as I have ideations AND a plan. Is that a good idea? or is it bad? My fear is that I become what he needs and he catches feelings or gets too attached. Im gonna ctb regardless so in healing him I feel as if Im just setting him up for more hurt

Sometimes just being a listening ear is all we can offer. If you have these reservations I'd be cautious about getting more involved than offering "non directive therapy" style availability.

I would say don't help him plan anything .That's upto him.Looks like you're already lending him your rear ear. Just be there for him.
