Does SI interfere with chronic illness.?

I'm in this situation and was wondering if SI will be a powerful force when my time arrives.

Faced with a painful disease process, i wish to die before the disease kills me.

Why would my body want to trigger Si, only to be killed by the disease later on. I have no desire to cling to life.

And yet so many people have taken the 500 feet plunge not far from me. on one occasion, a couple went over the top holding hands. In their note, it said quote " they couldn't go on with life" its like they accepted that life was over but in one final act, they jumped together. I later found out their young son Had died of illness and without him, they felt their life was worthless. Its was a meticulously planned act, even evading the chaplaincy teams who patrol the cliffs.

Thats how I feel. I want to control my life until the end and exit on my terms.❤

Even know we want to die, all humans are programmed to live and survive, it is the way we have evolved. It is difficult to overcome the survival instinct, but of course many people have ctb. I believe being at a point of desperation will mean that someone is more likely to overcome the SI. I hope you find the peace you are looking for.
