What do you think about isolating in a forest and dying of hunger and thirst? Do you think you could do it?

Thats basically VSED. Not eating and drinking for days will sure do you over. This is one of the methods used by elderly or terminally ill patients to CTB and most records say it takes atleast 3 days for them to pass. Though for young and/or healthy people, it will take a lot longer. Maybe a week or more. I attempted this, was still even functional at Day 5 however, the temptation to eat and/or drink is really strong. Need a strong resolve.

The humanbody is very strong and will do anything to survive. If your young helthy and well fed, your body will hang on as long as possible to keep you alive. Pulling on every last bit of fat and moisture in your body it can to survive, hence the sick and elderly trying this with more success and their body is already in a weaken state. It also may have a a bit of suffering depending on how your body hands such things. I feel sick if if i dont eat instantly so ill be to weak for this method without help or deeep disaplin

Ah yes. I was in so much pain the first few days that I forgot about the headache. However, pain subsided at Day 4. Must be because my body was slowing down its metabolism. I believe the reason VSED is possible is because in hospice care, the patient is provided with painkillers or sedatives to help numb them from pain. Done without the sedatives or painkillers, its not a pleasant experience. Unless, the person is really so weak from the start that they dont have the energy to feel pain anymore.

If you manage to really get yourself isolated...yes, sure. But it's gonna be painful/unpleasant as hell (insert the trailer for "into the wild").
It's a method none the less.

I'm not sure I would be able to do this method. It is difficult because the survival instinct would kick in, we are programmed to survive. It is also a slow unpleasant method. I would prefer something more instant. It sounds like an awful way to go.

Starvation is not exactly pleasant but in my opinion better than dying of thirst.

Wild animals in nature will kill you before you die of thirst.
