I know that it's normal to experience brain fog immediately after you wake up, but it's supposed to go away very quickly, right?
For me it doesn't go away for some reason, I wake up confused and stay confused the whole day, it's like my mind is always clouded and it makes it difficult to think clearly and focus on sth, my thoughts are chaotic. Sometimes it even feels like I'm about to faint, which is weird. Idk, I just feel like a zombie mindlessly going through motions.
Anyone else experience sth like this?

Do you take any psych drugs?
Most of them have a high chance of causing something like this

I had this about 12 years ago and it was because I was doing a complete burnout due of stress and problems everywhere (job+family +private). I couldn't rest, I knew wherever I was I had problems, and after more than 2 years like this I had really physical symptoms like brain fog, dizzyness, headaches. It ended by 6 month stopped by a doctor, then a job change and also many other changes. It's your body saying "stop"

I take Xanax but not in addiction level amounts. Could it still have caused that?

I'm glad you got out of it and it got better. I guess mental exhaustion can lead to constant brain fog

I have something similar. I have enormous trouble concentrating. Very often, for example, at work, I try to focus on something, but my brain prevents me from doing so. I feel like I'm looking through a fog. No matter how hard I try, my brain is thinking about something completely different and is in a different world.
