Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

a bus would suggest a communal group of people. but the reality is we die alone and very few people give a shit. catching the lonely walk would be better. i'm drunk posting right now but it still makes sense

I always pictured it to be like, throwing yourself in front of the bus, not as strictly the literal method, but to 'catch' the bus in that way, so to speak.

i disagree. i think it's a meaningful sentiment, "getting my ticket" aka getting method in order, "waiting on my bus" aka waiting for the right time. anf "catching the bus" the action itself. joining the others on the bus into whatever is beyond, other lost hopeless souls. i like the "catch the bus" euphemism, it feels hopeful to me.

I do like referring to suicide as catching the bus, but I understand what you mean. Suicide can certainly be very lonely. As humans we are all alone as people can never fully understand what we go through and experience life the same way. We only exist just to die and be forgotten about anyway. I do think that most people only care about what directly affects themselves.
I know it means "catching the bus" but when I read CTB my mind goes to "crossing the bridge". All the same sentiment really. But I never really thought about how a bus is usually full of people….good observation I suppose.

My mind does this too? I prefer crossing the bridge. Though it does remind me a bit too much of "Crossing the rainbow bridge" as if I'm a fucking Golden Retriever.
I like that it's been a commonly used euphemism for several decades. A bit of cultural heritage, so to speak. "bus stop" is a good metaphor for the state of contemplating suicide.

I had never heard the term before until I found this place, even after being suicidal for years. It sounded weird to use the term at first but I soon got used to it and agree it sounds better than most alternatives...
