• Hey Guest,

Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

I wanted to see a therapist since a long time ago because I feel really hopeless, but now with this, I do not know what to do anymore. I feel completely lost. I'm not sure I ever will recover from this, considering how even tiny things affect me for months sometimes. Is there any medication that will help to dull my emotions? I have never talked to anyone about my mental health.

You can absolutely bring it up, I believe there are even therapists who specialize in grief counseling if that is what you wish to focus on. Wish you the best

I have never talked to a therapist about anything before. I think I need to see a regular doctor first and then he can tell me what to do. I don't know what to say though. I feel I can't just say "I feel sad that my granny died, what can I do?"

I've seen a lot of people go through the grieving process. It's important to understand the five stages.

Talking really helps, especially with friends and not professionals.

I'd avoid a chemical solution as you're only deferring the eventual emotional debt.

Your PCP should be able to refer to you one, or you can search yourself. Reach out, state what you want help with and ask if they're taking new clients. But I agree with above, don't rely on medication. It doesn't solve it.

I'm so sorry about your Grandmother's passing. You must have had a wonderful relationship with her. I know how it feels to lose someone very close to you and their are no words to describe that gut wrenching grief. I think it would be good to speak to someone and you certainly can talk to a therapist. You don't have to have an onslaught of issues to speak to one. It can just be the one thing. I would try everything else possible before relying on medication. I wish you much peace ❤

You can most certainly say just that. It's a fine starting place.

The therapist will likely ask you lots of questions about you, your grandmother and your relationship with her.

The toughest part is walking through the door.

If you're even considering therapy, please give it a try. It really does help some folks and can be especially helpful for dealing with grief.

I'm glad you're reaching out to this caring SS community and that the respondents are so caring. Thinking of you and wishing you a bit more oeace every day.

One thing I'd like to pass along. After my mom passed, I had so much guilt and regret. She said a couple of things. She said, "We all die with unfinished business and regrets. Don't you think your mom had regrets upon her death? It's completely normal." Also, she said, "Look, you did more right then wrong. Try to be easier on yourself." Hope this helps.

That means a lot to me. Thank you so much. I wish I could say more but right now i'm just trying not to think about it too much. It's a busy time for me and I need to get on with stuff, even though I just want to lay curled up in bed all day. Nights are the worst.

Talking to a therapist pretty much always seems like the right call.
