Bullshitting authorities --> SN

I was wondering, if i were to come face to face with a government official and he/she was to enquire about my SN purchase, what excuse should I give them?
I have done research on this but I am just unable to find something that would stick.

I think the only excuse would be you want to cure meat with it. I do realize that some forms of SN are chemical grade for other purposes, so curing meat wouldn't be a reason for those.
