I don't think bondage ropes are a safe choice. They're usually 6 mm jute ropes, which aren't strong enough. The breaking strength of these ropes is about 180 kg, which gives a working load limit (WLL) of about 18 to 30 kg (
source 1, source 2). That's way too weak and unsafe for hanging, even for partial suspension! I understand that people sometimes suspend themselves in bondage, but they use multiple ropes for that, not a single line.
For hanging, a polypropylene (PP), polyester (PES), or nylon rope with a diameter of at least 10 mm (3/8 inch) is the safest choice. These kinds of ropes are more than strong enough, and they can also be soft, depending on the type. Polypropylene is a relatively soft material. It's best to check the reviews.
