Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

Closest I have ever been to taking this step. I have the rope. And I have time alone today to figure things out. Is it too thin? On suicide wiki it was one of the top options. @JesiBel i know you advise on this stuff. Would it work hanging over the door?

Also I'm curious why that Evelyn girl got banned. Not that it's my business, just wondering if her posts shouldn't be taken seriously?

Hello!

8 mm is a bit thin (I have one of this thickness and it's somewhat uncomfortable, at least for me), and also those types of rope are usually made of natural fibers like cotton, they aren't very resistant and they don't have any data about the WLL (Working Load Limit). Your full weight should not exceed this number.

I think the best option would be to get a stronger rope made of synthetic material like polyester or polypropylene, and not take any risks.

Look for one that is hollow braid (without a core), so you can close the door properly and flatten the rope against the frame.

My chosen rope is 12 mm (hollow braid, polypropylene) and I can close the door (giving it a push); I don't think it's possible to use a thicker rope than that.

The thread Evelyn created has all the details and considerations about this type of setup.

As for why she was banned, I don't know, since I registered some time after the incident, so we were never able to interact. She was one of the first users I read here, she made good contributions. Perhaps the reason was something else, we'll never know.

Don't rush. I think it would be more convenient to have more resistant materials.
