Sitting here depressed and I just thought of what my sister said to me. Absolutely true. Couldn't even use the gun I had at one point that's how much of a quitter I am

I can get that. I still can't tell if I have actual depression or if I'm just really too lazy to go through life.

I suppose it doesn't really matter cause the effect is still the same.

I still find it annoying when people say that I give up too easily. I used to constantly fight my inner demons so I guess it looked like I wasn't doing anything to them. I'm glad I completely gave up trying.

It's beyond weird dude. they go throught so much trouble just to enjoy a few secs of material satisfaction. +40h/week of pure torture, then the emotional torment of getting involved in a relationships, getting in debt, taking on the thankless job of being a parent etc... I just don't get it. where does the motivation come from? It's honestly admirable in a way. they want to survive and reproduce no matter what and sometimes I can't help but be in awe at their determination.

so much humiliation and exhaustion they must endure for practically nothing.

Yet, I wouldn't be here today if my ancestor didn't make sacrifices for me, for my existence. Why did they go throught so much length just so that I exist?

There is nothing wrong with giving up, in regards to life. We have the right to exit this world at a time of our own choosing, we have no obligations to stay alive as we did not ask to exist. It is a personal decision.

I think people used to feel themselves part of a larger story that took place over the course of decades and centuries… They were sacrificing so that their children and other descendants would have a better life… I think we have a very different conception of existence now… I'm not sure if people believe there will be a future…

I don't know how many people living in the past felt that life itself was utterly pointless… A lot of those people believed that they were working hard and sacrificing and struggling during this life so that they could earn a place in heaven as well… Belief in religion of course has fallen by the wayside…
