when i practice partial hanging after 1 minute i am very light headed but not passed out? is this a sign that it will not work. when i do it for real and i am not passed out after one minute should i continue? or is this a sign that it might be harmful by partially blocking the arteries and turning me in to a vegetable?

If you haven't passed out in less than minute you are probably not placing your neck on the right part of the noose. You should be passing out in much less time.

Definitely is going wrong, what's your configuration? There's something wrong in that.

thanks for your reply, i am placing the noose right above my adam's apple under my chin, using a slipknot with the knot at the back of my head and from there straight up holding the rope in my right hand. i am testing this without the anchor could it beceause their is not enough presure when pulling with your arm?

yes, but there's some anatomical limitations
some folks have a very large larynx, some folks have soft neck muscles so it depends

hi there, if you don't mind me asking, what did you use for the partial hanging?

so you mean that for some people it is not possible to hang them self?

I used a synthetic rope 12 mm and as anchor a pull up bar

i'd say for some it is much less reliable than others, and in discussions of ctb, it's best to work towards the most reliable method you can find

I also tried the same as you, without an anchor, holding the rope. Get light headed but don't pass out. How did you expirement with an anchor without fully commiting yet?

don't tie the knot but run the rope through the anchor and hold it in your hand. with this setup i almost fainted but my hand sliped the rope just before it happend. let me know if it works?
