Will small air gaps in the trunk of a vehicle allow carbon monoxide to escape?

Will ctb be possible in a car with carbon monoxide without sealing the trunk? I have no way to seal the trunk of my vehicle or will small air gaps not make much of a difference

Cars just don't put out CO like that used to. Much of a cars exhaust is just water now days

You need to consider not just where the trunk opens but also around the back of the seats, especially if your seats fold down. Trunks are not air tight at all.

There's a flap in the rear cabin that flips like a diode one way to vent the air pressure surge that occurs upon impact entering and slapping the doors shut. Otherwise like with older models the sure of pressure would increase cabin air density volume and make your ears pop.

One would have to seal all HVAC vents/ports and reduce cabin volume for maximal ppm volume concentration wether it's a bunch of beach balls, Styrofoam blocks, coolers anything to reduce internal cabin volume with solids to minimize cabin cm³ maximizing ppm concentrations.

The other option is to set the HVAC on recirculation mode and physically seal the external air vent flap as some sophisticated vehicles will detect anomalies and recalibrate.

For maximum CO ppm concentrations it's just a matter of the heaviest hydrocarbon fuel (additives) on a full tank. Disconnect/saw the exhaust line before the catalytic converter conduit and hose into the cabin.

It's not possible with modern cars is a myth. Rip out the catalytic converter and you have pure same engine exhaust on the flow line.

You'd have to test the setup depending on the vehicle for ppm concentration and depletion time plot.

There is only one way to know for sure and that is testing it with a CO meter. You need to have a CO meter inside the car and see how much CO is in the car, possibly watching it through the window. Other wise it is very hard to tell what will happen. Of course you need to seal every possible gap where air can enter, and have enough charcoal burning.
