• Hey Guest,

We wanted to share a quick update with the community.

Our public expense ledger is now live, allowing anyone to see how donations are used to support the ongoing operation of the site.

Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

It took him 4 hours, it really scares me to know that, but it's important to know that not all people die in 20 minutes from N.

Also, this comment is very much spot on.
By keeping it illegal, all it does is essentially make death with dignity available to those with financial means.
The people who die in this way are either very well off, or live in one of these countries, this is not an option for the vast majority of people who want to die. Dignity is one of the most expensive privileges apparently.

Such a good watch, it was nice witnessing such infectious humour in life and death. Plus, what they said about control was very relatable and understandable. Whether its the green light for an assisted suicide or a canister, a rope, pills, whatever. Having that option often brings a sense of control back into your life. At least from personal experience it's given me courage to see another day. When you're not desperately looking for an exit it gives you space to live again. That's probably one of the reasons I've survived so long.

Unfortunately many people don't understand, maybe simply don't want to understand, this truth for some people living in physical or mental pain.

Took him 4 hours to succumb to death but he might have passed out a lot sooner.

You shouldn't have to be terminal to be approved for euthanasia.

I definitely agree, don't think it should be a same day thing like going to get a spray tan but I hope it becomes more widely available to more conditions and demographics.

Canada no longer requires terminal, and mental illness is included !

Describes he was unconscious right away. Strong heart continued to beat like while asleep.

Straight from Canadian government website:

About mental illness and MAID

If you have a mental illness as your only medical condition, you are not eligible to seek medical assistance in dying. Under the new changes made to the law, Canadians who fall under this category are excluded from seeking MAID. This exclusion remains in effect until March 17, 2023.

Its a better way to go than rotting in a hospital bed and suffering till your last breath. I don't know why people paint euthanasia as such a grim process.

I am actually a member of Dignity in Dying in the UK and have been for a while now. The laws need to change because needless suffering needn't be.
