I don't get it

Could be declining health or chronic pain. Old age. Death of a loved one. Loss of purpose. Depression. Mental illness. A financial upset making them LESS wealthy and altering their lifestyle. Humiliation. There's well off people on this forum who detail many reasons.

But lacking $ is hugely limiting.

Money bring more problems, its not easy having money as everyone wants something from you. Every conversation is oh my car broke down again, I've no money for petrol. Everytime we went out I'd have to pay, some people stopped coming because they said it made them feel bad I was paying. It wasnt about splashing the cash, I very much just wanted everyone to have fun and not worry about the cost of things. Now however I have fallen further than I ever thought possible, I'm not poor but my desire for life is gone, money means nothing really. Why do you want money, to buy a nice car and a nice house? But why? To show off, doesn't that make you a scumbag like everyone else? Also most rich people made their own money, you want money go make some, start a business, train for a higher paid job its not impossible you just have to try with everything you have. Money is not a factor in my desire to die, would it be harder with less, yes probably but I have enough that it is not a problem, one less thing to worry about. I wanted love, peace and understanding. Instead i got pressure, tension and despair. Please dont say life is better for rich or for poor people, everyone struggles are real and of equal value.

Usually the biggest driver is mental or physical illness. Sometimes grief/loneliness. Sometimes guilt. Sometimes public shame. Sometimes fear/paranoia. Sometimes its existential.

I dunno what percentage of people here would be in dire financial circumstances but I doubt it would be most. There are all sorts of reasons.

Rich people, attractive people. Both can and do suffer from crippling depression. I used to think the same about attractive people. "How can they commit suicide when they are so attractive and can be happy?", but even they have their struggles.

Doesn't matter how perfect someone's life can seem, no one is immune from depression.

To the ugly person, how do the attractive ctb?
To the disabled/sick person, how do the physically healthy ctb?
To the mentally ill person, how do the mentally healthy ctb?
To the abused person, how do the loved ctb?

Etc., etc. Our own reasons always seem like the biggest ones for everyone.

No matter how much money you have, you get old. Aging is a terrible thing. A stand-alone CTB reason for me.

Money does not solve all problems and money does not always mean that someone is satisfied with their life. Nothing could ever make me want to live. Maybe many people want to exit this world as they see life as being completely meaningless and not worth living. All that humans do is just pass the time until they die. Some people just get tired of it all.

Alright. I'm no expert but the percentage for mental health issue related suicides is high... not sure about the exact number.

Because people who generally dream of becoming rich or having a lot of money don't kill themselves because they don't have money rather they work towards making more and more money during their lifetime or manage their financials somehow. ( People that are not disabled and healthy offcourse )

Because money can only solve so much. There's things money cannot buy, like perfect health*, understanding, sense of community, purpose, and meaning. Rich people still experience trauma, grief, and depression. Don't be so close-minded, they're still human.

*Yes, money can help your health to an extent, but there are things not even the best doctors can solve.

Yes, it's better to have a broken arm than having two broken arms. That doesn't change the fact that one of your arms is still broken in both scenarios.

Even money can't cover up how shitty life is. Like a bad wood house wall, still bad no matter how much you try to hide it. Rich people can try to cover it up with the most expensive things as wallpaper, reinforce it with metal as much as they want. But behind those layers, the structure is still the same. All wood eventually degrades with time.
