Why do people like to OD/use drugs to CTB?

Forgive me if this kind of thread is forbidden...
I've been researching CTB methods for well over a decade now, and there always seems to be 'trends' over time...a decade+ ago it was nitrogen/helium, today SN seems to be the topic of most discussion.
Statistically drugs/OD are the most unlikely methods to die from (single digit success rate), I'm sure most people here already know that. I tried to OD once on Benzo's and other shit, and after about 4 minutes panicked and ended up in hospital.

If you're considering using drugs to CTB, can I ask why you choose that given the low success rate and chance of long term organ damage/ending up in a hospital?

I'm looking at a modified Captive bolt stunner to the brain, or a black powder gun since shotgun's are unavalible to me. There are things that scare me about it (i.e. ending up a vegetable or locked-in), but it seems to have the highest chance of working.

Because CTB is scary for many people and they like the thought of taking a drug, falling asleep, and dying in their sleep vs more violent methods. ODs do work for some people but you are right in that most fail.

(just another reason, im sure theres a whole list)
its easier to swallow something that any normal person would be use to doing (taking advil for headaches) vs trying to hang yourself ect

That's kind of the purpose of this site. SN is known to work, benzos are known not to.

How to get to the hospital if you are drugged?
In my case, using drugs is not my style but overdoses with strong drugs or with the famous SN have given a lot to talk about

The downside of my method (shotgun to the head) is it destroys my brain & head. As someone with some narcissistic traits, this really blows. :) And precludes a funeral where my loved ones get closure

They should at least be able to try to shake me, wondering WTF I did this to myself

I agree but actually doing it, especially via violent methods, is scary to many including myself.
