Are you one a mobile or a computer? Either way, it appears at the top of the screen as two lil chat bubbles. I'm between the lightning bolt & the magnifying glass. I think if you click the 3 lines on the top their should be an option for chat. May be green color?

Your account might be too new if you couldn't find it yet :) it is pretty visible at the top bar normally
Just wait a few days and keep being active and it will appear
