Only you will know and can know for certain. For me, when there's nothing left, no hope, no future, and just plain emptiness. I'm still hanging on.

That's more than the time I would put into "getting better" but everyone has different circumstances, opportunities, etc. However, it DOES NOT MATTER what I or anyone else thinks, ONLY YOU.

It's always been when I just can't handle the thought of being alive anymore. There's a sort of fuzzy dissociation where this world fades and all my focus goes into a compulsive suicidality. Could be different for you. That's just how it's been for me.
