I'm looking to buy a nitrogen tank and was wondering if the type of nitrogen I buy matters.

I see various ones listed such as "Industrial grade nitrogen", "Food grade nitrogen", "Ultra high purity nitrogen" and "Medical grade Nitrogen"

Is any of them preferable over the other or will they all get the job done? Thanks friends!

Hey! If I were you, I'd personally go for "Ultra high purity nitrogen" or "Industrial grade nitrogen".
All of them would be relatively similar, however medical grade and food grade have regulatory standards for their purposes, for example, food grade focuses less on the concentration of nitrogen and more on keeping the oxygen PPM low to avoid food spoilage. Medical grade on the other hand focuses mainly on keeping carbon monoxide PPM to near zero, as this nitrogen would be contacting humans. For your specific purposes I'd assume you want less safety and more potency. Honestly, I wouldn't overthink it and go for whatever's cheaper as there's little between them, but the absolute best would be the two I mentioned earlier.
Cheers!

Thank you so much!! This was very very helpful!

As a follow up question, if it's not specified what type of nitrogen I'm buying from a welding store is it safe to assume its industrial grade?

Yes, its illegal to sell Nitrogen that is less than 99.0%, which is what a welding company told me
