Wondering if anyone has any recommendations on what to say to be prescribed benzos from my psychiatrist? Would like more for my SN protocol than what I was able to acquire.

They're mostly prescribed for anxiety or sleep disorders. If you do this I would suggest you do research on either of those. They will probably ask a lot of questions considering benzos are a controlled substance with a good potential for recreational abuse.

Also keep in mind anxiety and insomnia can be treated with many things other than benzodiazepines, you don't know what you're going to get. I would honestly wager a psychiatrist would be more likely to prescribe something else first considering benzos are more risky for ODing in some ways and recreational use, as I said.

Thank you, I appreciate the advice. I do already take something they gave me for sleep. So I guess I can't go that direction.

You could consider telling them your sleeping meds aren't working. Usually there are "first line" treatments which are the least amount of risks, with the least potential for abuse. If you say it isn't working, he might prescribe you something stronger and that could potentially be a benzo.

You don't want to push it though. Doctors are usually experienced with drug-seeking behaviour and if you get caught in the act it can make getting meds in the future a lot harder.

I would tell my Dr I'm having severe anxiety lately & have used lorazepam or similar as needed in the past & it was very effective. 🤗🌹💔

Update: well shit, I tried. She did prescribe me propranolol, not sure if that's helpful at all for the SN procedure. She said she would prescribe Ativan but would rather try something else first.

So all you need to do is go back in 10 days & say propanolol doesn't help. Sounds like you have a good Dr! 🤗🌹💔

Aren't benzos usually prescribed for anxiety disorders?

It is helpful for the method but for a different reason. At your follow up tell your doctor it helps with the physical sensation in your chest that you get from anxiety (it will, actually!) but that it does not stop the anxiety symptoms that are mental. The whole point of a benzo is to sedate you, which manages the mental symptoms like racing thoughts, intrusive thoughts, panicking to the point of emotional/mental dysregulation.
I was able to successfully get Xanax by doing this.

Because of issues with controlled substances it seems most doctors are trying to lean towards non addictive treatment first.

Thank you, that's very helpful. So the propranolol I'd also add to the procedure to help with the symptoms like tachycardia?

Here is the most current PPH- if you go to page 122 it discusses your method. Propanolol is a beta blocker, which PPH says is a "luxury" basically, you don't need it but if you have it, why not use it?!

Okay great, thank you! So I guess not a complete failure in getting prescribed that instead of benzos like I'd wanted.
I do have a small amount of Xanax on hand, but only like 6mg I think.

This is what happened to me too, only I used to get Xanax then all the sudden my doctor decided I should try propanolol. I wasn't upset because hey at least I got a beta blocker hahah, but I'm too scared to attempt this method without a benzo so I continued to work at it until I got Xanax again
It's frustrating, because I can only get 5 Xanax at a time 🤣 so it's been a whole mission. Anyway, I hope it works out for you!

Oh wow, do they often only prescribe a small amount at a time like that? What amount of benzos would you be happy with? I have no tolerance, so I'm not sure what difference 6mg would be to say like 20mg

I guess where I live there is a law limiting controlled substances to "high risk" individuals. I had a failed attempt last December so now I'm part of the cool kids club and I can only have 5 benzos at a time 🫠 crazy, you can go 35 years like a perfect human, try to off yourself one time and everyone loses their shit.

So I'm not sure exactly either because I do not take benzos. SO last week I took 1 pill (1mg) to test how it affected me. In less than an hour I passed tf out and didn't wake up for 12hrs so I guess not much idk really

Oh wow, so it sounds like they're pretty strong then. I can't imagine what something like 20mg would do then. I'm wondering how necessary going to a mega dose really is for someone without tolerance. Like is 6mg gonna do the job well enough. Totally feel you on the failed attempt people freaking out thing. I'm sorry.

According to Dr. Google - the max recommended dose for an adult in a 24hr period is 4-6mg.
That's also assuming you're taking them throughout the day, not all at once so 6mg at once seems like a hefty dose for someone who doesn't usually take it.

If anyone is looking for benzos a very popular clear net auction site in the US has clobromazolam available at the moment. It's a very strong RC benzo.

Yeah, hopefully it'll be plenty if I can't manage to get it prescribed. Thank you for that research
